Day 4

day 4 is all about my ASOS picks for stocking fillers or even kris kingle gifts around the $25 (AUD) mark. ASOS always have an awesome range of small gifts around Christmas time, they are definitely one of my favourite online sites to pick up some presents!

i have picked out a range of items that i like and that i think would be a perfect gift for a family member or friend. i tried to find items that would suit both males and females from a variety of ages.
i hope this little stocking filler guide gives you some ideas for some last minute gifts!

Lonely Planets Best Ever Travel Tips - $12.00 AUD
this is a great gift for a range of people; basically anyone who travels or at least plans to travel in the future. i think that this is the type of gift that you can't really go wrong with.

Typo x Star Wars Darth Vadar Shaped Mug - $21.00 AUD
this would definitely be a winner with my fiance, he LOVES star wars. it would also be a great gift for your dad, uncle, brother or anyone else who enjoys a good mug and the star wars franchise.

Paladone Disney Castle Trinket Tray - $24.00 AUD
everyone loves Disney and somewhere to store their little jewellery pieces. i would gift this to either a sister (young or old), a friend, a niece, a cousin. again, if you have someone who loves Disney i don't think you could go wrong with this one.

Keep Cup Original 8oz Resuseable Cup - $22.00 AUD
everyone needs a keep cup!! if you have someone who you know loves coffee or tea then this is obviously a perfect gift. not only is it extremely easy gift but also is going to have a positive impact on the environment and reduce the usage of disposable coffee cups. they also come in an extremely large range of colours and sizes.

Fizz Creations Beard Buddy Beard Shaper - $20.00 AUD
i feel like every second man i know has a beard these days, so this would be a winner. i like that it is a fun idea but also a practical gift. definitely a good stocking filler.

Flamingo Candles Face Candle in Pomegranate and White Fig -  $24.00 AUD
everyone loves a good candle, right?! i thought this candle was perfect because its monochrome so would go with majority of peoples decor and it has a super cute face on it. i also think the scent would smell divine. realistically i am probably just going to buy this for myself oops.

Gift Republic 100 Box Sets Bucket List scratch off poster - $26.00 AUD
with so many ways for people to access tv shows and movies these days, i thought this would be a fun gift for your friends/family to challenge themselves to completing this box set bucket list. i think it would be a good gift for couples or teenagers or realistically anyone who has time to watch countless hours of tv.

KadoTropical Hip Flask - $20.00 AUD
this would definitely be one for your party friend or family member. i personally don't drink anymore but i can confirm i would have loved to receive this when i did and don't they say to give a gift that you would also love to receive?

Paladone Batman Egg cup and Cutter - $18.00
this probably looks like a kids present and it realistically is but i know a few adult males that would enjoy this. it is a cute little fun gift to give as a stocking filler. (whether they use the toast cutter or not, you have to admit that the egg cup is pretty cool)

which one of these stocking fillers would you love to receive?

Day 3

there is nothing quite like Christmas baking!

Christmas is definitely my favourite time of the year to bake some goodies and share them amongst friends and family.

shortbread is something i have been making since i was a little kid, mum and i would cut the shortbread into Christmas shapes and decorate them with green and red icing.
i decided this year i wanted to recreate my childhood shortbread cookies and share it with you.

Christmas Shortbread
Prep: 2 hours      Cook: 20 minutes      Makes: 20 cookies (depending on cutter size)

Ingredients
200g unsalted butter (chopped)
1/2 cup Caster Sugar
1/2 cup Rice Flour
1 1/2 cup Plain Flour
2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
**whatever you choose to decorate with** (i chose Dr Oetker designer icing in white and some icing sugar)

Method
Step 1 - Process butter, sugar, flours and vanilla in the bowl of a food processor, stopping and scraping down sides with a spatula, if needed, until dough just comes together. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead gently to combine.
Step 2 - Divide dough in half. Shape into discs. Wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until just firm.
Step 3 -  Preheat oven to 170C/150C fan-forced. Grease 2-3 large baking trays. Line with baking paper.
Step 4 -  Roll out 1 portion of dough between 2 sheets of baking paper until 3mm thick. Using your preferred cookie cutter, cut 8 cookies from dough. Repeat with cookie cutter, re-rolling and cutting dough trimmings. Place cookie shapes, 2cm apart, on 2 prepared trays.
Step 5 - Bake, 1 tray at a time, for 10 minutes or until just firm to touch, but not browned. Leave cookies to stand on tray for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step 6 - once completely cooled, decorate as you wish. (i chose to decorate with some pre-made icing by Dr Oetker and some Christmas themed sprinkles)

i really enjoyed baking these Christmas treats and hope you will too, send me some pics of your creations if you end up using this recipe :)

**sorry they are decorated so terribly i had to rush them**

Day 2

it's time to share with you my Christmas wishlist this year. i love but hate making these because i know half the time the wishlist presents are unreasonable and above everyone's budget; but i can dream right?!

this year i couldn't really think of a lot i wanted, especially beauty wise i seemed to tick off buying everything i wanted when i was holiday so i am not left wanting much. however i did accumulate a list of a few things i would really like to receive at Christmas.

Cordially Invited by Zoe Sugg
i have been following Zoe for a few years now and have never really gotten into her novels but i am excited to read this. i love a good 'how to' book especially when she loves Christmas as much as i do so i can only imagine ill pick up some good tips from her. it will also make a good coffee table book (for when i get a coffee table haha)
Peter Alexander Grinch Christmas Pyjama Set
my heart can't take how cute these are!! i just need them in my life.
PA makes the best pyjamas and releases the best ranges so no doubt his Chrsitmas range killed it this year. basically i need everything.

Calvin Klein Monogram Logo Bra + Bikini in Grey
i have really liked this mongram range from Calvin Klein since the Kardashian/Jenner ladies debut it. i love wearing a comfy bralette when i am relaxing at home so i would love to add this to my collection. Calvin Klein underwear also last a long time and can handle a lot of wear and machine washes so i definitely think they are worth the cost.

Marc Jacobs Daisy 100ml Gift Set
its been tradition for me to receive some form of perfume whether its a single or in a gift pack for Christmas. so i am hoping this year is no different and i receive this Marc Jacobs set. Daisy is one of my all time favourite perfumes and i like to wear it on special occasions or if i am going out.
Quay Australia Crazy Love Sunglasses in Black
who doesn't love a good pair of sunnies. my fiance would say i have way too many pairs but i say you can never have enough sunglasses!
i really like this shape and the colour of these. Quay Australia also make the best quality sunglasses at a reasonable price so fingers crossed i find these under the tree on Christmas day!
Kate Spade New York Happily Ever After Ring Box
since i've just gotten engaged i only think its necessary for me have somewhere super cute to put my ring. i really like Kate Spades entire bridal range and wouldn't say no to any of the ring dishes or boxes but i particularly liked this one!

Tony Bianco Brandi Kid Suede Wedge in Ochre
every girl needs a new pairs of shoes for Christmas, even if they are slightly over any ones Christmas present budget! i love a good pair of Tony's, they really makes the best shoes. i love these especially for summer, they are super versatile and i can see myself wearing them alot. santa please!!!

Kikki K - Basically anything
so i am basically loving EVERYTHING in Kikki K at the moment. so i would literally be happy with anything and everything from any of their ranges. there is just too much to chose from for me to put something on my wishlist. so Santa feel free to buy me anything Kikki K!!

Mecca Max Bananarama Complexion Baking Duo
so i bought the banana bake loose powder back in April and really liked it but i didn't know there was a pressed version of it so that's how this beauty made it onto my wishlist. i really love the smell of the setting spray and gives the skin a nice smooth effect. fingers crossed i receive this pack for Christmas because i am dying to try the pressed powder!

whats on your Christmas wishlist? i would love to know!

Day 1

firstly i can't believe its December, secondly i can't believe its almost Christmas and thirdly welcome back to another year of 12 days of Christmas!!
i really enjoyed doing my 12 days of blog posts in the lead up to Christmas last year so here i am back again!

i wasn't sure where to start for day 1 but i decided it was only necessary i did  a November beauty favourites post especially after the amount of new beauty products i picked up in over the course of the month.

if you are up to date with me on instagram and on here, you would know that we just got back from our cruise to New Zealand. we spent a few days in Sydney before we left on the cruise and that's where i picked up a ginormous amount of new makeup and beauty products.

1. Nars Climax Mascara in Explicit Black
i had been using a tester of this mascara for a little while before i decided to take the plunge and pick up the full sized product but i am really glad i did. i am really impressed with this mascara, it is super light on the lashes and fans them out nicely. i like that my lashes never look or feel clumpy when i use this mascara. it also makes my lashes look longer and overall they feel fuller. this mascara also never smudges and stays put the entire day, at this point i can't fault it!

2. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear 24hr Foundation in 005
this foundation was on my wishlist for an extremely long time, i had been watching my favourite beauty gurus use it for months. so of course the first thing i did when i got to Sephora was buy it (we don't have Sephora in the city i live in, so i normally spend my life savings when i get the chance to visit a Sephora store). i picked up the shade 005 which is a near perfect match! so far, i am loving the coverage and finish of this foundation. i feel as if it gives my skin an airbrush finish and i like that its not super matte. the longevity of this foundation is really good, i wore it on a 35 degree day all day in Sydney and it didn't move at all.  highly recommending this one!!

3. Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer
my new favourite bronzer!!! i literally have not put this down since i got it. the shade and pigment in this bronzer is perfect, it is extremely buildable but also has the right amount subtleness if you only want a light bronze. i really like how this bronzer sits on my skin, its not too ashy and not too warm. i really think its great for the cooler months, through autumn and winter. i would probably use the regular chocolate bronzer for summer when i really want to be bronzed but otherwise this bronzer is definitely a must buy especially if you are fair skinned like me!

4. Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette
my fiance bought this for me for our anniversary, i had been waiting to receive it for months so i was super excited to finally use it. of course, like all Too Faced palettes it lived up to my expectations! i love the shade range in this palette, it is really versatile. i can see myself using it during summer but also during winter and autumn. the pigment is amazing; Too Faced always produce the most pigmented shadows. i literally can't fault this palette, i really love the fact it is entirely matte and how usable the colour range is.

as many of you already know, we went on our holiday this month to Sydney and New Zealand.
we allocated some days in Sydney before we went on the cruise where we got to do as much shopping and spending as we wanted to. so of course i went a little crazy in Mecca and Sephora.
i picked up a lot of new goodies and some oldies that i needed to replenish!
it was a good time to buy because everyone was starting to release there Christmas gifting and holiday collections.

i have been so busy since we have been home that i haven't even had a chance to test all my new products out. but i do have some that i am REALLY excited about.
in particular, i can't wait to use the GlamGlow Multitasking Mask Treatment set from Mecca. i first tried this set out at one of my besties house when we had a girls night and i really liked the range of masks you get in the set. they cover all your skin needs, whether you need brightening, moisturising or a good scrub.  The masks are also really good enough sizes, they are big enough to get a multiple uses out of each one. so i am definitely looking forward to pampering myself with these!

the Tarte Quench Squad Hydrating set is another product i am really happy to have picked up. these lipsticks are my all time favourite formula. they offer a subtle colour and are ridiculously hydrating. i also love the packaging of them; this set happens to be part of the holiday range so each lipstick has a different christmassy theme to it. these will come in handy especially during the summer time!

after MONTHS of looking and waiting, i finally managed to pick up the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye cream. i can't tell you how happy i was when i saw Sephora actually had stock of this! i had been using testers for sometime and had really fallen inlove with this eye cream. i like the way it sinks into my skin and it doesn't leave me feeling greasy under my eyes. i also feel like it really works and i notice a difference in my undereyes when i use it, compared to when i don't. definitely recommend this one if you are looking for a good eye cream (it is a little pricey but totally worth it).

here is what else i picked up:

MECCA
1. Urban Decay Cherry All Nighter Setting Spray - $23.00 AUD
2. Sol De Janerio Brazilian Bum Bum Cream - $66.00 AUD
3. Too Faced Papa Don't Peach Blush - $44.00 AUD
4. Nars Climax Mascara - $35.00 AUD
5. GlamGlow Multitasking Mask Treatment Set - $57.00 AUD

SEPHORA
1. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Foundation in 005- $60.00 AUD
2. Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Eye Primer - $33.00 AUD
3. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Cream - $68.00 AUD
4. Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser - $25.00 AUD
5. Sephora Experimental Mask Set - $30.00 AUD
6. Tarte Quench Squad Hydrating Lip Set - $30.00 AUD
7. Fenty Beauty Tapered Blending Brush - $36.00 AUD
8. Beauty Blender Blenders Delight Beauty Bundle - $60.00 AUD

DAY 3: SEA DAY (Sunday 04/11/2018)
Ovation of the Seas from the North Star
we are officially home from holiday, i can quite easily say i am VERY depressed about this. it went way too quickly but nonetheless this holiday was AMAZING and the Ovation of the Seas and New Zealand lived up to all my expectations.
my partner also proposed to me before we got on the cruise so that made it extra special. it was truely incredible but i will share a separate post about that! :)

i thought i would break down the holiday posts this time around and instead of doing one for post of the entire trip. i have decided to do one 'sea day' blog post and one 'port day' blog post, sharing in detail what a typical day at sea and in port would look like.

typically i like to be a little more active on a sea day and unlike many, i like to get up early and make the most of the day.
time tends to get away from you whilst you are cruising through the vast ocean, so i like to try and get as much in as i can in the morning and relax in the afternoon.

this particular sea day started of with breakfast in the dining room buffet. we went to the dining room buffet most mornings, it is a lot nicer/better then going to the windjammer (huge buffet). you still get table service for your tea and coffee and can ask for extra things like fried eggs etc that normally aren't in the buffet.

after breakfast we tended to head back to the room and finish getting ready for the rest of the day. i would then browse the cruise compass (the daily schedule of events happening on board) to see if the was anything i would like to do. this sea day we had a few things booked and planned so i didn't have to do much planning.
Good morning world - Coffee was NEEDED
Northstar at it's reach of 90m above sea level
we grabbed a coffee and headed up to deck 14 where we waited on the sun lounges for our turn on the North Star.  the North Star is a capsule that suspends 90m above sea level, offering some pretty amazing views over the boat and the ocean.  we jumped on the North Star at our booked time of 10.30; bookings for this are essential and it is definitely worth booking before you arrive on the ship via the cruise planner.

the North Star is a must do and super worth it especially if are someone who likes to take photos (i think i took a good hundred).
View from the Northstar
once we were done on the North Star, we walked around on the outside levels of the ship. it was a particularly sunny and surprisingly warm day. the back of the ship, holds the Flow Rider (a simulated surfing ride type thing) and the iFly (pretty much simulated sky diving), both are always great entertainment. we watched people participate on both of these whilst enjoy the sunshine.
View from the Northstar- it was such a nice day!
lunch time rolled round and lucky for us, we had a reservation at Jamie's Italian.
the layout and decor of Jamie's was really nice and perfectly situated on the ship.
before i tell you what we had to eat, let me just say it was the best meal i had on the ship by far!!! so yummy!!
i started off with a bruschetta for entree as well as a anti-pasta platter of cold meats and cheese that we shared. my main course was a tagliatelle bolognese, i can't even describe to you how good this was. the sauce was amazing and no doubt it was almost better then my nonnas!! (and that is saying alot)
for dessert, i finished with a tiramisu which once again has to be up there with one of the best i have ever had. i definitely have no complaints about this dining experience and i wish we went back a second time round. if you are going on the Ovation then definitely add this to your list of things to do.

after lunch, we headed for a spot of shopping. we ventured into Michael Kors where i picked out a nice black coin purse. it was on sale and an absolute bargain so i just couldn't resist. (i wish i bought more stuff from the shops on board because the prices are ALOT better then what they are here in Australia)

as we finished looking around the shops i realised i was going into a full blown food coma, so it was only necessary that we headed to the Two70 lounge to relax whilst we looked over the ocean. the Two70 was one of my favourite venues to hang out, it has 180 degree views of the ocean due to its floor to ceiling glass windows and a lot of comfy chairs.
we sat back and relaxed whilst sipping on some strawberry daiquiri's. i read a bit of 'Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine'  and we enjoyed the remainder of the afternoon.

Royal Theatre
we attended our set dinner reservation at 5.30pm with our waiters Ge and Donna and enjoyed a nice 3 course meal. i can promise you that these 3 course meals every night definitely didn't do a lot for my waistline.
the night was finished off with a show in the Royal Theatre called Live Long Legs. i like attending the shows each night as there are always something different.
once the show was over, it was bedtime which was well and truly deserved.

i hope you enjoyed this little insight into our holiday

like many, i am a notorious over packer when it comes to traveling. not only do i tend to over pack on clothes and shoes but also makeup.
i find it very overwhelming to narrow down the amount i take because i am never sure what my skin is going to look like during the course of my travels.

i have put together a list of my holy grail products that never let me down and that i will be DEFINITELY taking on our upcoming holiday.  its no secret that i will be taking a little more then is on the list below but i think that is acceptable considering its a 15 day holiday with a formal dinner every single night!
but anyway, the following products are staples anywhere i go:
1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup SPF 10
the estee lauder double wear foundation is by far one of my favourite foundations of all times. i can always rely on it to give me the coverage and durability that i need. it creates a great finish on the skin. i wear the shade 2N1 Dessert Beige but always take my 'tanned' shade with me on aswell when travelling and that is shade 3W1 Tawny.
2. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
i swear by this makeup remover! i think i have been using it since the day it was released and have never looked back. Miceller water is a great and quick way to take off the majority of your makeup with no fuss. i use this product to take off the bulk of my makeup then go over the face with a wipe to remove any excess before cleansing. the best part about the Garnier Miceller Water is that in comes in a travel size version that always lasts the duration of my long holidays.

3. Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer
my tarte shape tape concealer has become my life. i don't go anywhere without it these days! it has great coverage and lasts the entirety of the day. i use the shade fair neutral for my undereyes and areas where i want to brighten and the shade light neutral for the areas i need to conceal. i seriously recommend taking a good concealer on your holiday (its especially handy for when you need to cover up those late nights).
4. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Powder
i actually travel with two of these powders; one in my handbag and one in my makeup bag. it is by far my favourite pressed powder formula. this estee lauder powder works perfectly with the double wear foundation and gives me the confidence that my face is going to stay all day. i am the shade 2N1 Desert Beige in this too.
5. Too Faced Milk Chocolate Matte Bronzer
this is a newbie to my holy grail list and will make its first travel with me this holiday. i haven't been able to put the Too Faced milk chocolate bronzer down since the day i bought it. it gives me every bronze i need, whether that is subtle for day wear or a bit heavier for a night out. this bronzer is buildable and smells AMAZING.
6. Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette
i never wore blush before i had this product but the colour of the blush in this palette has literally changed me. it is so pretty and smells divine like all too faced products. i love the Sweet Peach Glow palette because it allows me to travel with a blush, bronzer and highlight all in one.
7. Stila Eyes are the Window Shadow Palette - Mind
eyeshadow palettes are always the hardest thing for me to take on holiday because i can never narrow it down and pick one to take. i generally like to take one that has a lot of shades that i will use and that are versatile; i also don't want anything too bulky. the Stila Eyes are the Window Mind palette is always a great one to take, as it is fully matte and has a great ranges of shades to choose from. it also features a large mirror so that is always a bonus.
8. Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara
you can't go anywhere without a good mascara, that is why i bring my trust Benefit Bad Gal Bang mascara. ever since i got it, it has trumped every mascara i own! definitely my current go-to mascara, not only is it volumising but its also smudge proof and water resistant!!
9. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
i tend to change my brow products quite frequently but the one i seem to always go back to is my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. it always is in my makeup bag and never lets me down! it provides me with a natural yet full brow and is super easy to use. i like to take it away with me because i know it will last the duration of the day with a brow gel over the top! i use the shade Medium Brow.
10. Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick
the Estee Lauder Pure Colour Envy Sculpting lipstick is my all time favourite lipstick formula. i love the way it glides onto the lips and really gives a nice creamy formula that is SUPER hydrating. they have such a great colour range and allow for a really natural lip to a bold and dramatic lip. i have a few favourite shades from this range, however i always find myself reaching for the shade 120 Desirable which is a nice pinky nude.

i hope you enjoyed this post and a little insight into what my travel makeup essentials are. it is definitely hard to narrow down the amount of products i put into my makeup bag.
what are your go to products when travelling? i would love to know
