Stephanie.

so i finally decided to bite the bullet and place a colourpop order! the main reason i hadn't done one before is because its pretty pricey (everything is in USD) for them to ship to Australia but they had a few good promotions on when i placed my order which meant i basically saved enough that shipping didn't matter.

it's not a huge haul but i think its a good start to my colourpop collection and pending my experience/reviews, i will definitely place another order.

i think colourpop is really good because of how affordable it is. even considering this, so far i haven't noticed the difference between a high end version and their versions. which i think is really great if you are on a budget or don't love spending hundreds of dollars on makeup.

i picked up the Heavy Hitter Pressed Palette firstly because i loved the colours and then the description won me over "This nude quad packs a punch with its warm, sandy tones." it describes summer and i thought this would be perfect for my holiday. Not only is it compact but i can already think of multiple looks i can create with this palette.

the colour pay off seems really good from swatching it, although the lightest shade "full-zip" matched my skin colour almost perfectly so you couldn't see it in the swatch (i obviously need a tan haha) but overall i am pleased with the palette and how it swatched, i am looking forward to trying it out and taking it on holiday.

my next purchase was the Amaze Super Shock Shadow. i figured this would complement the eye shadow palette really well and i could use it for adding a little more 'sparkle' to my night time looks on holiday.

i am so glad i picked this one up, the shade is amazing and it is so pigmented!!!! i knew it was going to be good but i didn't think it would be have such good pigment/colour payoff and no fall out but it does. thankgod for cream shadow and i good one at that.

i picked up two lip pencils and without realising they are almost the same shade hahaha oh well a girl can never have enough nude lip pencils. i picked up the shades Curvii which is apart of the iluvsarahii  collection and is described as a warm beige as well as the shade Skimpy which is described as a soft pinky nude.
although they have completely different descriptions they do swatch very similar so i am intrigued to see how they pay off on the lip and whether they are noticeably different.

but i have only heard good things about their lip pencils and you honestly cant go past a good lip pencil that is also cheap!!

my next two products were actually freebies apart of a promotion they had going which was spend X amount get one free, spend X amount get 2 free and so on. so i spent enough and got two free lip products. i think they had 3 lip options and then 2 shadow options but i opted for the matte lip and gloss option as i thought they were the colours i would wear the most.

if you do see colourpop doing a promotion like this i would definitely buy at this time because not only are you spending what you would of anyway to get what you needed but also getting limited edition products for free to try out as well.

the matte lip was the limited edition ultra matte in the shade Take Five. this is described as a "mauve-toned rose" and it is gorgeous!! it also swatches so nice and so far i like the formula.
i haven't tried a colourpop lipstick at all before but everyone i have known to wear them raves about them so i am excited to put this one to the test.

again this is something else i strategically picked for my holiday, i think the pinky tones to it will look really nice in the 'summer time'.

also even though i didn't have to pay for this one, their matte lipsticks or any of their lip products are super affordable even after you do the exchange to Australian dollars

the gloss i picked up was the Nine to Five Ultra Gloss which is described as a "mauve with a golden shift." to be honest i probably won't wear this shade, its way more metallic then i pictured it to be so lucky it was a freebie.

overall i am very happy with my colourpop haul and the products i got, i definitely see myself placing  another order in the future. perhaps to try out the new concealers 💭

xx

Take Five Ultra Matte Lipstick (limited edition but would retail for $6.00 USD)
Curvii Lip Pencil $5.00 USD
Amaze Super Shock Shadow $5.00
Skimpy Lip Pencil $5.00 USD
Nine to Five Ultra Gloss (limited edition but would retail for $6.00 USD)
Heavy Hitter Pressed Power Palette $12.00 USD

Hi everyone!

For me down here in Australia its finally spring!! don't get me wrong i love getting all cosy in winter and i love winter fashion but i am definitely looking forward to spring/summer this year.
I particularly can't wait for my holiday (of course), the sun and the nights of daylight savings and epic sunsets.

So as the change of season comes (i say this as it is still 11 degrees and pouring rain outside) so does the change of my wishlist which i thought i would share with you today. Some of these items are a little unrealistic and adventurous but hey it would be could a wishlist if they weren't and some others are super affordable.

Adidas Court Vantage $120 AUD

the first thing on my wishlist are the Adidas Court Vantage Embroidered in White/Off White. i am OBSESSED with these. i have wanted them for ages and guess what they are sold out in my size wahhh. Stylerunner are the only place in Australia to sell them and i am heart broken haha.
They are soooo cute and just imagine pairing them with denim shorts or a denim skirt or even a casual dress!!! (if you know anywhere else that sells these that ship to aus please HMU)

Wilde Like Me by Louise Pentland $16 AUD

this is probably a weird item to have on my wishlist but i really want to read this book. it was one of my new years resolutions to read more and we are now in September and i've haven't really picked up a book all year.

i have heard so many good reviews on this book and i have always been a fan of Louise's blog and youtube channel. so I'm really hoping i enjoy her first book!

the plan is to finish (or at least make a dent) on the book i started reading last night before i get this one. so hopefully it can be my holiday read!! (if not perhaps my christmas holiday read haha)

Ipad Air $469 AUD

another slightly bizarre item on item my wishlist is an iPad *que monkey covering its eyes emoji*.

basically i just really want a new iPad, i have an old mini but i just want a new bigger one haha.
i want to use this for mostly blogging; i think it will be soooo much easier to carry my iPad around and blog on that compared to taking my MacBook everywhere. also i want to take it on holiday with me and again so much more practical then carrying your laptop.

oh and also you know when you are online shopping on your phone and you just think to yourself this would 10x easier on something bigger but cant be bothered getting your laptop? exactly. my other reason for this wishlist item! (OH and pinterest!!!!!)

#ipadgoals
Dungarees/Pinafore- Crow Valley Denim Pinafore, Princess Polly $65 AUD

dungarees are so in this year, whether they are in pant, dress or short form they are extremely popular and i need a pair! I have been on the hunt for the right 'one' for a while now, trust me i spent my fair share of time trolling the web but never found any i was really set on.
Until now, i loveeeeee this dungaree dress (pinafore) from Princess Polly, it is so cute and the exact style i wanted. i dont want anything too 'kiddy' or OTT and i think this has the right amount of everything.

i decided to go for the dress version because 1- i am wayyyyy to short and stumpy for the shorts (so not flattering) and 2- i cant find a pant version that is made for us short petite girls who would prefer a tighter pant.

so i think this is perfect and if my bank account allows me ill hopefully be the proud owner of it before my holiday. if so, i plan to pair it with a cropped t-shirt underneath or even my bathers and either sandals or a casual sneaker.

Quay Australia X Desi 'High Key' in Gun/Rose $65 AUD

most definitely one of my favs on the wishlist.
these new release (i think limited edition) QUAY x DESI sunnies are life!!! give me anything rose gold and ill be happy so when i saw she was releasing this colour way i knew i needed them and especially for spring/summer!!

these launched on the 6th of Sept and sold out practically straightaway.

ASOS Champion Crewneck Sweatshirt With Varsity Patches $196 AUD

crying at how expensive this jumper is !!!!! *patiently waits for it to go on sale*

why do i need a jumper in spring/summer in Australia you ask? because sometimes you just do. what if it is an abnormally cold spring and we don't stop wearing winter clothes until november???
as you can tell i dont reallllly need it but man isn't it nice.

this could look super cute under my dungarees for example or even just paired with a pair of denim shorts for when its just that little bit chilly. i imagine this to be a fairly light sweatshirt so it would be a good 'throw on'. but i just cant justify the almost $200 price tag and that is why its still on my wishlist.

***hint hint- christmas present idea***

Too Faced Just Peachy Eyeshadow Palette (not released in Aus yet but should retail for around $60AUD)

this all MATTE eyeshadow palette is of course on my wishlist!!!

i love too faced shadows and when i saw they were releasing this to their Peach collection i fell in love. all the shades are so nice and so versatile and generally all colours i would wear and the BEST PART is all 12 shades are matte!!!

i have one of Too Faced's original matte palettes and honestly the colour pay off and pigmentation of the shades are amazing, you can't really go wrong with their palettes. so fingers crossed i can pick this one up when I'm in Sydney later this year! EXCITING.

Billabong Modimal Beach Bag $39.99 AUD

okay so honestly there is this one and about 3 other styles of this beach bag i love but i thought this one was a little more quirky then the rest.

i figured i would need a beach bag of some sort for our holiday later this year plus for summer days at the beach/by the pool.

all of billabongs beach bags are big and have pockets/zips on the inside for your valuables (there is nothing worse then sand in your phone just saying). they are also foldable and easy to store so my logic is, i should be able to get it into my suitcase without it taking up too much room.

Tony Bianco Dani Heels in Caramel Phoenix $219.95 AUD

the perfect spring/summer heel!

how gorgeous are these, they would be honestly perfect for any occasion during our Australian spring/summer season and they are soo on trend; lace up clothes and shoes are everywhere at the moment so these would definitely be a good investment.

these are so versatile and could be worn with dresses, shorts, jeans and anything in-between.
they also come in black if this colour isn't your style.
normally i would lean more towards the black but i just think these are the ultimate nude shade for summer!!

i would looooove to take these on holiday with me but I'm not sure my bank account will let me before we leave (anyone have a spare $200?)

🙋

so thats all on my wishlist for SS17/18 so far, i hope you enjoyed this blogpost and the little insight into what i want in my life right now (even though i am most definitely suppose to be saving but hey i can dream)
what is on your spring/summer wishlist?

Hi everyone

instead of doing a full favourites post i thought i would do quick post sharing with you 3 of my favourite things from the month of August.

1.
this month i discovered The Body Shops "Vitamin C Skin Boost Instant Smoother" and how have i not tried this before. for some reason i have just always looked past The Body Shops skincare range but they actually have some really good stuff and its not too pricey either.

i use this primarily over my moisturiser but you can use it just by itself. it leaves your skin feeling super smooth (well obviously given its name) and doesn't make you feel any oilier. i have also been using this as part of my pre-foundation routine- clinque moisturiser, vitamin c skin boost smoother then my smoothing primer. you may think its a little overkill but honestly the finish of my foundation is 100 times better (i usually have fairly dry skin so sometimes my foundation goes a little patchy) and it lasts all day.

would definitely recommend this product!

  2.
another favourite of mine this month has been my shampoo and conditioner. i have been using the OGX Ever Straightening + Brazilian Keratin Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner.  this shampoo and conditioner has literally changed my life haha. my hair has never felt better!!!

i have used OGX shampoo and conditioners before but never found one that really made a difference to my hair. I decided to try this one with Keratin in it after watching a video by Lauren Curtis who said that changing her shampoo and conditioner to one that had Keratin in it literally saved her hair. i totally agree!! my hair has never felt smoother or healthy and i also feel like its growing faster too YAY.

100% recommend using this or any shampoo that has Kertain in it.

3.
my final favourite for August was the Tarte Tartiest Pro Glow to Go Palette. i actually brought this highlight and contour palette back in March but i thought it was a little underwhelming, until i rediscovered it this month and OMG.

both highlights from this palette are insane, both are very pigmented and i like to combine the two. i think the 'sand' highlight suits my skin tone more then the 'pearl' but both are equally as amazing. i have had sooo many complements on my highlight when i've been using these so they definitely do their job. in saying this though sometimes i do have to tone them down with a little bit of powder if i don't want to be extremely glowing haha (if you have used these you will know what i mean)

i haven't really dabbled in the contour shade too much, but i do like it. i generally stick to my hoola bronzer for contour but the contour shade from this palette and hoola are very similar. so i think ill start to use it more!

the other reason i love this palette is because it is so compact and light. i have decided that im just going to take this palette on holiday with me for all my highlight and contour needs as it literally takes up no room!

my only criticism is that there is a little bit of fall out from all three shades which is a little annoying but its fixable.

i hope you have enjoy this little favourites post!
i would love to know what your favourites were in August?

*sorry that the photos are a little dull, i had to take them at night time*
